BEGIN YOUR WELLNESS JOURNEY.

Medicine that starts with listening.

Most people who find their way to de Vie Wellness have already been somewhere else. Several somewheres, in many cases. They have had the appointments, the referrals, the bloodwork that came back "normal." They have been told it might be stress. They have been handed a diagnosis that explains some of it but not all of it. They have been managed rather than heard.

We built this practice for them.

At de Vie Wellness, we practice naturopathic medicine the way it was meant to be practiced — with time, with rigor, and with the whole person in view. Not just the chief complaint. Not just the most recent labs. The whole picture: the history, the patterns, the things that happened years ago that no one ever connected to what's happening now.

This is medicine that starts with listening. And it doesn't stop there.

The Philosophy

PRINCIPLE 1: The body is intelligent. We work with it, not against it.

Symptoms are not the enemy. They are communication. A body that is struggling is a body that is trying — trying to compensate, to adapt, to signal that something needs attention. Our first job is not to suppress that signal. It is to understand what the body is trying to say and why.

This shapes everything about how we practice. We are not looking to mask symptoms with the least risky intervention. We are looking for root causes — the upstream drivers that, when addressed, allow the body to do what it is designed to do: heal.

PRINCIPLE 2: Complexity is not a dead end. It is a starting point.

Many of the patients we see have been told, in one way or another, that their situation is too complicated, too unclear, or too outside the box. We disagree.

Complexity is not a reason to stop looking. It is a reason to look harder, more carefully, and with a wider lens. We are trained to work at the intersection of multiple systems — the gut, the immune system, the nervous system, the endocrine system — because that is where the most difficult conditions tend to live. We are not unsettled by cases that don't fit a clean pattern. We are built for them.

PRINCIPLE 3: The patient is the expert on their own experience.

A young woman with long brown hair, smiling, and wearing a black blazer, earrings, and a necklace, sitting indoors near a window with green plants and trees visible outside.

No one knows your body better than you do. You have been living in it, paying attention to it, and trying to make sense of it — often for years before you found your way here. That knowledge matters. It is clinical data, and we treat it as such.

At de Vie Wellness, your subjective experience is not secondary to your labs. It is part of the picture. We combine what you tell us with what the objective data shows us, and we hold both with equal weight.

PRINCIPLE 4: Healing is a process. We are with you for all of it.

We do not practice medicine in isolated appointments. We practice it over time, in relationship. This means we track how you respond to interventions, adjust when something isn't working, celebrate when something is, and stay curious when the picture changes.

Getting well is rarely linear. There are windows of progress and periods of recalibration. We are not looking for the straight path. We are looking for the right one — for you, your body, and where you are right now.

The Method

Philosophy without method is just philosophy. Here is how we actually practice.

METHOD 1: We start with the full picture.

Your first appointment is a comprehensive intake. We go deep — your full health timeline, your family history, your diet, your sleep, your stress, your environment, your prior labs and imaging. We want to understand not just what is happening now but how you got here. Often, the most important clinical information is something that happened five or ten years ago that was never connected to the present.

We review any prior records you bring. We ask questions other practitioners may not have asked. We listen to the answers — all of them.

METHOD 2: We use functional and conventional diagnostics together.

We order the labs that most conventional practices don't. Comprehensive stool testing. Organic acids. Micronutrient panels. SIBO breath testing. Hormone mapping. We look at standard bloodwork through a functional lens — not just whether your numbers fall within the reference range, but whether they are optimal for you.

At the same time, we do not dismiss conventional diagnostics. We integrate them. The goal is the most complete picture possible, drawn from every available and appropriate source.

METHOD 3: We treat with precision, not protocol.

Every treatment plan at de Vie Wellness is built for one person: you. We do not run patients through templates. We use botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, targeted supplementation, and lifestyle medicine — chosen specifically for your case, your history, your body, and your goals.

When pharmaceutical support is appropriate and within our scope, we discuss it. When referral to another specialist is the right move, we make it without ego. The goal is your health, not our completeness.

METHOD 4: We educate as we go.

You will leave every appointment understanding more about your body than when you arrived. This is not incidental to the care — it is part of it. An informed patient is a more empowered patient. And an empowered patient heals better.

We explain what we are seeing, why we are recommending what we are recommending, and what we expect to happen. We answer questions directly and honestly, including when the honest answer is that we don't know yet — but here is how we are going to find out.

METHOD 5: We practice without the constraints of insurance.

de Vie Wellness is a cash-pay practice. We made this choice deliberately.

The insurance model, as it currently exists, does not support the kind of medicine we practice. It rewards speed over thoroughness, volume over depth, and standard-of-care defaults over individualized thinking. It limits the time we can spend with you, the tests we can order, and in some cases the treatments we can recommend.

Removing that constraint means we can practice the way we believe medicine should be practiced — with time, with intention, and without a third party deciding what your care is worth.

This is medicine that takes you seriously.

If you have spent years feeling like you are too complicated, too sensitive, too much — you are not. You are someone whose body needs a practitioner who is paying close enough attention. That is what we are here to do.

When you are ready, we would be honored to be part of your story.

"We are not looking for the easy cases. We are looking for the patients who need someone to finally look closely enough — and stay."
